Getting Involved

The most important qualification is having the drive and the time to commit to this organization. We would also prefer that you have a good understanding of how Science Olympiad competitions are run. There are opportunities to get involved as a core member, event supervisor, and exam writer! These activities are not mutually exclusive. For example, you can be a core member, exam writer, and event supervisor. Conversely, you can choose to only be an event supervisor if you don’t have time for other activities during the semester.

  • Core members: plan aspects of the invitational competition
  • Event supervisors: should have prior experience in events of interest
  • Exam writers: should have good knowledge of subject

Volunteers are essential to running any Science Olympiad competition. Tasks include:

  • Set-up: posting signs, setting up events,
  • Grading: keys and event supervisors provided
  • Proctoring: some event supervisors may need assistance
  • Clean-up: the least glorious of all details, but so necessary
  • and more!

If you would like to do any of the above and/or join our Core Membership (core members help plan our invitational), please email us at and let us know what you would like to be involved in.
